If Amanda Bynes' mom and dad are to be believed, their daughter has become a delusional substance abuser who’s draining her bank account.
In court documents, the troubled actress’ parents say she’s become "extremely paranoid about being watched," that she covers smoke alarms with towels, and tapes windows shut to prevent cameras from seeing her.
The parents go on to claim that the one-time star of “Hairspray” and “What I Like About You” has "profound issues with her body image" and is "obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly."
The legal filings claim Bynes had $4 million in her bank account but spent more than a million of it recently. In the last two months alone, her parents cite withdrawls of $200,000; they believe "a substantial amount" of that cash was spent on marijuana and other drugs.
The 27-year-old former child star allegedly doesn't connect with reality, telling her folks she "cabbed it" from New York to L.A. They believe she's homeless, a danger to herself and others, and they’ve filed papers in an attempt to take control of her business and financial affairs.
A judge denied Bynes’ parents’ petition for a temporary conservatorship Friday morning (July 26), requesting more information instead.
