Kardashians Konsider Lawsuit to Kombat Kontemptible Sweatshop Klaims

Star Magazine has pulled off the impossible: coverage of the Kardashians than actually turns off this attention-crazed family.

The latest issue of the tabloid quotes Charles Kernaghan - the head of the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights - as saying the Kris Jenner-led clan employs youths in China to manufacture Kardashian merchandize in unsanitary warehouses.

An investigation has been launched into these "slave labor" like conditions - that reportedly include long work hours, meager wages and uncomfortable temperatures - but there's a  problem:

Kardashians Kover Story

Kernaghan says he was misquoted and tells TMZ there's no proof that the Kardashians are involved in any kind of sweatshop scandal. He's never even been to any of the factories in question.

In light of this admission, along with the magazine cover above, sources say the family is set to move forward with a libel lawsuit against Star. Lawyers believe the tabloid should have to pay for damage caused to the Kardashian brand's reputation and, trust us, we hate to agree with anything this family says or does.

But they may have a point here.

Get the alternative Harry Potter experience

Tickets for the Warner Brothers' Harry Potter tour will set you back 83 for a family ticket. But there are other, less obvious ways to follow the Potter trail

Little wizards and witches may be gripping their wands in readiness for the opening of the Warner Brothers' Harry Potter tour in Hertfordshire in March; tickets have already gone on sale and demand is said to be so high the opening hours for weekends, bank holidays and school holidays have already had to be extended.

But the magic doesn't come cheap ? and after shelling out a whopping 83 for a family ticket, some parents may feel they are putting the mug into muggle. But there are less corporate ways to follow the Potter trail.

? If you fancy a stroll down Diagon Alley you could do worse than join one of the London walking or bus tours of the films' locations that have sprung up in recent years; Richard Jones, a travel writer and parent of Potter-mad children, has helpfully put together a free Harry Potter Film locations tour and London Treasure Hunt, and added some general historic sites in for good measure.

? Those with a few galleons to spend, can meet some of the stars of the films ? Harry's loyal owl Hedwig, and Errol, the Weasley family's ancient pet, have retired from showbusiness and taken up residence in Scotland's Owl and Pussycat centre. As well as touring local events, they can be visited at the social enterprise by anyone booking an owl walk ? but any sanctuary with a snowy owl should be equally enchanting.

? Or for those looking for a longer adventure, how about a trip on the Hogwart's Express? The 84-mile ride along the West Highland Railway line, is said to be one the world's greatest railway journeys and the Jacobite, the steam train that runs along it, was used in the films to transport the characters to their School of Witchcraft and Wizardy.

? But wherever you live, a quick trip to a garden centre would give any ardent Quidditch fans the chance to pick out their very own broomstick (ask for a besom broom) which, with a bit of customisation, could be as good as a Nimbus 2000, while a stroll through a park or the woods will furnish Potter fans with enough twigs for a whole shop of wands. And if they still moan about wanting to go to the studio, you could always try Harry's uncle's trick ?lock them in the cupboard under the stairs and tell them they are getting the full Privet Drive experience.

Taylor Lautner Talks Fight Scene in ?Abduction?

He?s definitely easy on the eyes, but it turns out Taylor Lautner was quite tough on one of his ?Abduction? costars.

The ?Twilight Saga: New Moon? stud told press that he accidentally clocked his fighting partner during a scene in his solo flick.

Lautner explained, "It was all for real, which is great and involved a lot of training. We weren't wearing gloves, so if one of us messes up, we're literally getting punched with a bare fist -- and that did end up happening once. I felt so bad."

Taylor connected with Ilia Volok accidentally. "I hit him in that sweet spot. He was such a good sport about it. He was totally fine, thankfully."

Orson Welles's Citizen Kane Oscar sells for $860,000

A buyer in the US snaps up Welles's only non-honorary Oscar, awarded for the screenplay for his 1941 masterpiece

The Oscar that Orson Welles won for Citizen Kane's screenplay has sold for $861,542 (roughly 550,000) at a California auction house.

The award, sold and bought anonymously at Nate D Sanders Auctions, was awarded to Welles at the 1941 Academy Awards for his groundbreaking debut feature, which he also directed and starred in. Among the bidders was the magician David Copperfield, who owns a number of props used on the shoot.

The statuette was the only Oscar that Welles won during a career spanning more than 50 years, although he was given an honorary award by the Academy in 1970. It was lost for many years until 1994, when cinematographer Gary Graver attempted to sell it after claiming Welles (who had died nine years earlier) had given it to him as a form of payment.

Welles's daughter Beatrice retrieved the Oscar after a series of legal challenges but was herself blocked from selling by the Academy in 2003. She eventually sold it to a non-profit organisation. Since 1950 the Academy has insisted that all winners sign a contract giving the body the right to buy back the statuette for a dollar.
