It's Confirmed: Nicki Minaj Is Leaving American Idol!

Nicki Minaj has announced that she is leaving American Idol after one series as judge on the show. Nicki broke the big news on Twitter yesterday and wrote: "Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn't trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!"

In a statement, Fox said: "Nicki Minaj is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol and who had a tremendous positive impact on so many contestants this season. Given her extremely busy career, we understand and respect her decision and wish her the best."

Yesterday it also became official that singer Mariah Carey is also leaving the show and her public relations firm said the singer was now working on a world tour. Earlier this month, the American Idol veteran Randy Jackson also announced that he is leaving the jury table.
