Relationship Drama Means No Pattinson, Stewart, or Lautner at Upcoming 'Twilight' Conventions

(Getty Images)more pics »Instead of a rousing enthusiastic sendoff, the Twilight Saga is in danger of ending on a muted fizzle thanks to the real-life saga of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. When news broke last month that Stewart had cheated on Pattinson with her Snow White director, the logical question in Twilight fans' minds was, "How is this going to impact the run up to the release of Breaking Dawn 2?" The answer appears to be "not well."
Franchise fans are known for being dedicated, involved, and highly excited, which is why the release of a Twilight film is not your run-of-the-mill movie premiere; it's a series of major events. Every film is accompanied by Twilight Conventions (this year in Texas, Michigan, New Jersey, and California), and until now, the stars of the films have shown their gratitude for all the support by appearing at these cons.
In a move likely made to avoid the awkwardness of Robsten-related questions, the three principle cast members (Stewart, Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner) have withdrawn from their scheduled attendance at the conventions. Creation Entertainment, the group who hosts the events, released a statement saying, "Although Rob, Kristen, and Taylor will not be with us this time out, we will have a super lineup of other Twilight stars, and the weekend will be filled with special movie props and costume displays, contests, panels, auctions, parties, exclusive merchandise, music, and much more.
While Kristen has yet to make a public appearance since her affair with director Rupert Sanders (right) was revealed, Rob has been busy doing press for his new movie Cosmopolis. However, his talk-show guest-spots have been more about food than in-depth relationship talk. While on Good Morning, America, Pattinson skirted George Stephanopoulos' questions about the cheating scandal, simply saying, "I've never been interested in trying to sell my personal life."
Unfortunately for Twilight fans, it looks like that means there's going to be a lot less RPattz on red carpets come the release Breaking Dawn Part 2.
