The Cannes film festival rumbles to a stop as the competition jury, lead by Jane Campion, hand out their gongs. Among the winners were Timothy Spall (best actor for Mr Turner), Julianne Moore (best actress for Maps to the Stars) and Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who won the Palme d'Or for his film, Winter's Sleep
