After he drops Dreamchasers 3, Meek Mill thinks he and Wale can give the fans 'something new and different.'
By Rob Markman
Now that Meek Mill has released his major label debut, don't think that the Maybach Music MC is going to abandon his street-directed formula any time soon. The Philadelphia lyricist is eyeing an April release date for his Dreamchasers 3 mixtape, and at the same time, he's considering cooking up something with his MMG mate Wale.
"I want to prefect it and make it crazy, you know [Dream Chasers 2] was so crazy, you gotta make sure you come strong on 3," Meek told MTV News during a recent trip to the 2103 NBA All-Star Game in Houston.
So how does Meek plan to top Dreamchasers 2, which was counted amongst 2012's best tapes?
"Practice makes perfect. I'm in the studio every chance I get, putting together a lot of joints," he said. "As long as you practice, do you and have fun it should come out good. All I've been doing is having fun with the music and it's been coming out right."
In addition to DC3, Meek is considering partnering with Wale on a new tag-team project. "Yeah, I think we're at a stage where we're like really done with keep throwing solo mixtapes out all the time; give the fans something new and different to look forward to," he said.
The pair have shown a ton of chemistry when they collaborated on tracks like "Pandemonium" and "Actin' Up," which appeared on the Rick Ross-helmed Self Made Vol.1 and Self Made Vol. 2, respectively. While Rozay is clearly the glue that binds the MMG camp, Meek is more than confident that he and Wale can carry the load without the boss.
"We were doing it before Ross so I think we could do it now. We're at a stronger level in the game, so I think it'll be easy," he said.
