Chris Brown, Demi Lovato and 2 Chainz are just some of the stars set to appear on MTV's brand-new series "This Is How I Made It," premiering October 13 at 12 p.m. ET/PT.
Each week, the half-hour show chronicles the rise of two celebrities, in their own words, from humble beginnings to the peaks of their professions. In addition to musicians — Wiz Khalifa, Ciara, Mac Miller and Afrojack also will appear on future episodes — "How I Made It" also features athletes like U.S. Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas and actors like "Glee's" Naya Rivera and Ashley Rickards, star of MTV's "Awkward."
The premiere episode features a pair of stars — Rickards and 2 Chainz — who recently broke through to the big time. "Awkward" just wrapped its critically acclaimed second season, while Chainz is featured prominently on the new G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer, and wowed fans with a fiery performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
On each subsequent episode, stars will reveal the intimate details and personal stories behind their journeys and, in doing so, provide a road map to success for their fans. In intimate, first-person narratives, they'll share their earliest memories of falling in love with their chosen career paths, the sacrifices they made and the setbacks they faced before finally making it to the top. In the end, each story is a testament to hard work and perseverance, and each is meant to inspire viewers to reach for their dreams.
"This Is How I Made It" debuts Saturday, October 13, at 12 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
