A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas ? review

It's third time around the block for the stoner duo, here offering an Xmas movie that is suitably dopey but not exactly bursting with comic energy

The Harold & Kumar franchise is dusted with some seasonal sparkle for the titular tokers' third dip into their stoner comedy stash. This time around the pipe's packed with abandonment issues: Harold (John Cho) has temporarily kicked the weed and moved to the suburbs, where he's looking for the perfect Christmas tree to impress his terrifying father-in-law (Danny Trejo). Kumar (Kal Penn) is still at one with the sofa, but when a mystery package arrives at the pair's old flat, he sets out on a hazy mission to reconnect. The plot is a puff of smoke ? vapourised the moment Harold is coaxed off the wagon. From there this sweet and puerile caper bumbles from drug jokes to dick jokes to a shotgun to the face for Father Christmas. All wreathed in gloriously kitsch 3D, it's fuggy and silly, sporadically disgusting, but for the most part pretty lazy.
