Elizabeth Taylor?s Jewelry Sells for Nearly $116 Million

Elizabeth Taylor?s vast collection of diamonds and jewels went up for auction on Tuesday at Christie's in New York, and fetched nearly $116 million. In all there were 80 pieces were sold, including the highest-priced item, "La Peregrina, a Cartier-designed necklace with a 16th-century pearl that Richard Burton gave Taylor in 1969. It went for a whopping $11.8 million. In addition to several pieces from Burton were jewels given to Taylor by her dear friend Michael Jackson.
