The rapper and 'Love & Hip Hop' star was shot while driving in a funeral procession on Saturday.

Rapper and "Love & Hip Hop" reality show star Benzino was shot and taken to the hospital on Saturday (March 29) while he was in the Boston-area to attend his mother's funeral.
Benzino, born Raymond Scott was attacked by a man in another vehicle while driving southbound on Route 3 in Duxbury, Massachusetts law enforcement officials confirmed with WCVB in Boston. The rapper and former owner of The Source magazine was taking part in a funeral procession, before the assailant pulled up and shot him. He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-fatal injuries.
The shooter was arrested and will be charged with armed assault with intent to murder according to reports.
Scott made his mark as an owner of The Source magazine, a pioneering hip-hop publication. Under the rap moniker Benzino, he put out a number of albums, and once had a lyrical back and forth with Eminem. After moving on from The Source, Benzino started another magazine called Hip-Hop Weekly, but these days is most known for his role in the VH1 reality series "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," where his love life plays out on television for everyone to see.
MTV News reached out to authorities, but as of press time was unable to get an official word on the shooting.
