Glenn Close shone brighter than a massive gold statue at this year's Oscar's nominations lunch (with a little help from Stella McCartney)
I've been a fan of Glenn Close since she busted out a power skirt suit in Damages, but, really, you have to admit it's quite fabulous to see her so breezy in a bit of tropical print Stella McCartney, from the designer's Resort collection.
This is what we in the fashion biz call a statement coat – and it will duly set you back around £1,370. The brilliant teaming of said print with vibrant blue trousers and a fuchsia pink Falabella clutch from McCartney's vegetarian accessory line rather suggests Close likes to mix it up a bit in the wardrobe department. And doesn't she look relaxed posing for pictures at the Oscars nominations luncheon in Hollywood?
One final thought on the look: it could not be in starker contrast to the costumes she wears in Albert Nobbs, the film in which Close plays a woman passing as a man in 19th Century Ireland, that has led to her nomination for best actress in a leading role.
