Party like a popstar or a princess with this guide to four very famous New Year's Eves.

With just 48 hours left in 2013, it's time to start shoring up your plans for the countdown to the New Year. Where will you be? What will you do? And whom will you be smooching when the clock strikes midnight?
But wait! Before you answer, you'll want to take a gander at -- and maybe take inspiration from -- our roundup of New Year's Eve plans from our favorite celebrity party people. From a cozy night in for the royal family to a party in the U.S.A. for the year's biggest pop icon, here's how you can ring in 2014 in style:
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
What They're Doing: After a year spent mostly out of the public eye, rumor has it that the "Twilight" lovebirds will ring in the coming year the same way they did with this one: snuggled up away from the paparazzi, on the Isle of Wight.
Destination Details: Just off the southern coast of England, the Isle of Wight has been a holiday destination for discerning Brits since the Victorian era. In fact, Queen Victoria herself had a summer home on the island for years.
How Can I Go? Hop a flight to Southampton, England by way of Edinborough or Manchester. Then pick up a ferry to the Isle's northernmost harbor. In the summertime, the Isle's abundant beaches make it a fun place for seaside strolling, but for New Year's, you'll want to pack something cozy and make plans to bunk down in a cute English inn. One package offers, "cream tea and champagne upon arrival."
Total Cost: Set aside $2,500 for your last-minute trans-Atlantic flight, another £397.50 (about $660) per person for a New Year's stay at the Priory Bay Hotel, and £14 (about $23) for a round-trip ferry to and from the Isle.
Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult
What They're Doing: Although nobody close to the couple has blabbed about their plans, several sightings of them in and around London since yesterday make it a fair bet that they'll be celebrating the New Year there.
Destination Details: Big Ben; Westminster Abbey; Buckingham Palace -- you know the deal. London is England's biggest, bestest city, and a very cosmopolitan place for two A-list celebs to get lost in the New Year's revelry.
How Can I Go? United Airlines still have non-stop flights available for a last-minute jaunt, and while the hotels might be full up, an Airbnb room in the hip Dalston neighborhood can still be had for a song. Just be cautious when buying street meat.
Total Cost: At under $2000 for a plane ticket and 2-night stay, partying a la J-Law and N-Hoult is more affordable than any other across-the-pond option.
The Royal Family
What They're Doing: Kate, William, and baby George have committed to a cozy New Year's eve at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.
Destination Details: The country estate where Kate's fam resides is a picturesque stone home, but it's been upgraded with serious security and patrolled by guards, in order to protect the visiting heir to the British throne.
How Can I Go? Hop an overnight flight and rent a car for the hour-long drive from London to Bucklebury.
Total Cost: Your flight will set you back $1400, but scoring an English manor house like the one where the Middletons live is a bit pricier... By $1.3 million or so. Personally, that kind of luxe just ain't for us.
What She's Doing: With a spot on the performance roster for the NYC New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, it's a given that Miley will be partying it up in the city that never sleeps.
Destination Details: It's the country's most famous New Year's party, in the city's most famous location. Come midnight, midtown Manhattan will be packed to the gills with revelers from all over the world.
How Can I Go? It's not too late to catch a train from most cities in the U.S., but you'll want to arrive by early afternoon if you want to actually see the famous ball drop, because it fills up fast. Also, pack a warm coat, hat, and gloves, 'cause it's gonna be cold out there.
Total Cost: Cheaper than you'd think; who needs a hotel when you're going to be up all night? Take the train, and you can be in NYC from most east-coast locations for under $200. Flying will set you back closer to $600. Of course, if you work at MTV, the entire Times Square celebration is just outside your office door!
[Editor's Note: MTV's building is completely closed on New Year's, so don't even try to get into the building. Okay? Okay.]

Giving fans a glimpse of her recent adventures, Beyonce took to her Instagram account and posted a snapshot of her Miami vacation on Monday (December 30).
The “Single Ladies” songstress shared a photograph of her at Jugofresh juice bar, where an Andy Warhol-inspired version of Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” was featured.
The photo, which had no caption, showed Beyonce sitting front and centered of the painting. While posing, she managed to cover up Jesus. It's not certain whether or not this was intentional.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old singer remains under fire after putting a sample of NASA Challenger disaster in her new single “XO.”
In response to the criticism, Knowles stated, "My heart goes out to the families of those lost in the Challenger disaster. The song 'XO' was recorded with the sincerest intention to help heal those who have lost loved ones and to remind us that unexpected things happen, so love and appreciate every minute that you have with those who mean the most to you.”
“The songwriters included the audio in tribute to the unselfish work of the Challenger crew with hope that they will never be forgotten,” she added.

With so many detailed costumes in her closet, it’s no wonder one of Britney Spears' on-stage getups malfunctioned during her Las Vegas gig over the weekend.
The “Baby One More Time” songstress was in the middle of her song “Circus” when the back of her dress popped open.
Thankfully, one of Spears’ quick-handed backup dancers raced to her aid and re-fastened the zipper before anything crazy happened.
Adding insult to injury, Britney has been accused of lip-syncing much of her performance, though her management vehemently denies the allegation.

Polish pianist composed scores for films including Roman Polanski's The Pianist and Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula
Wojciech Kilar, a Polish pianist and composer of classical music and scores for many films, including Roman Polanski's Oscar-winning The Pianist and Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, died on Sunday. He was 81.
Kilar wrote music for more than 130 movies in Poland and abroad, with Dracula earning him the award for best score composer from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers in 1992. He died in his home town of Katowice, southern Poland, after a long illness, according to Jerzy Kornowicz, head of the Association of Polish Composers.
The composer was born on 17 July 1932, in Lviv, a former Polish city now in Ukraine, to a doctor and an actor. The family moved to Rzeszow in south-eastern Poland, then to Katowice in the south, where Kilar continued his musical education.
He studied piano, music theory and composition in Rzeszow, Krakow and Katowice before graduating in 1955 with top honors from the State Music Academy in Katowice.
In 2003 the British Academy of Film and Television Arts gave him an award for his score for The Pianist. Kilar also wrote music for Polanski's The Ninth Gate. In Poland he was known for working with three influential Polish film directors: Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieslowski, and Krzysztof Zanussi.
Kilar told the PLUS journal he would like to be remembered as a "good human being, someone who brought a little happiness, hope and reflection into life and into the world and perhaps a bit of faith".
His wife of over 40 years, Barbara, died in 2007. They had no children.
Kilar will be buried in Katowice on Saturday in a ceremony starting with a mass at the Arch Cathedral of Christ the King.

Heard something inflammatory and outrageous this year? Odds are one of this lot said it. So in a head head-to-head contest, who's the most horrible troll of them all?
Don't feed the trolls. That's rule number one of the internet. When you're confronted with someone who enjoys deliberately making unnecessarily inflammatory statements, the best course of action is to deny them the emotional response they crave. Everyone knows that.
But, oh, it's hard. Especially when, as this year has proved, some people can actually make a pretty good living from being a troll. We've picked eight of the most recognisable – some politicians, some entertainers, some only known for how unremittingly awful they are – and pitted them against each other to find our Troll of the Year. So, yes, we're feeding the trolls. But at least we're feeding them to each other.
Richard Dawkins Evolutionary biologist, 72. Favoured targets: Christians, Islam, airport regulations
Godfrey Bloom Independent MEP, 64. Favoured targets: women, made-up countries
Louise Mensch Former Conservative MP, 42. Favoured targets: The Guardian, the left in general
Katie Hopkins Ex-Apprentice candidate, 38. Favoured targets: The working class, Scottish people, Holly Willoughby
Jeremy Irons Actor, 65. Favoured targets: Fathers hoping to marry their sons
David Davies Conservative MP, 43. Favoured targets: Parents of gay children
Wiley Musician, 35. Favoured targets: Music festivals, music festival organisers, farms
James Arthur Former X-Factor winner, 25. Favoured targets: Gay people, women, his own fans
Bloom opens strongly, claiming that British aid shouldn't be sent to "Bongo Bongo Land", but that's all he's got. He fumbles around, trying to land a follow-up by blurting out that some of Ukip's women are "sluts", but he's clearly struggling. Dawkins cooly opens Twitter, types "All the world's Muslims have fewer Nobel prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge", and instantly obliterates him.
Winner: Dawkins
Mensch makes a decent enough fist of trolling – starting fights with Alastair Campbell here, claiming that depressed people should go jogging there – but she's a gnat in the face of the towering cave troll that is her opponent. Hopkins declares that she'd never allow her children to play with anyone called Tyler, because people called Tyler are poor and probably criminals. Mensch backs down, defeated. Her mistake was trying to make points about stuff, and not just spraying mindless invective all over the place for no reason.
Winner: Hopkins
In one corner we have Irons, from Die Hard 3, objecting to gay marriage on the grounds that a father could marry his son for tax reasons. In the other we've got Davies, telling anyone who'll listen that most people don't want to have gay kids. At this stage it's a stand-off. But Irons flinches first, apologising and saying "I think gay marriage is wonderful". A rookie error. Not Davies, though. He attempts a semi-apology by claiming that he knows lots of gay people. He posts a picture of one on Twitter. It's his sparring partner. Davies has posted a picture of himself punching a gay man to prove that he likes gay people
Winner: Davies
Wiley steps up first. He's just arrived at Glastonbury, determined to harsh everyone's buzz. He tweets "Rain ffs", "Everybody is getting sacked" and climaxes with the glorious "Fuck them and their farm". But, in truth, he's too entertaining to count as a troll. James Arthur, on the other hand, hates all forms of entertainment. He uses a homophobic slur in a rap, then demonstrates just the right amount of poor impulse control by lashing out at anyone who mentions it on Twitter. It's trolling as performance art.
Winner: Arthur
Let's look at how the candidates respond to criticism. Dawkins has some honey confiscated at an airport, and responds by saying "Bin Laden has won". When confronted with the inevitable mockery, he tweets as many sympathetic replies as he can to strengthen his point (classic trollwork) and then calls everyone else "thick". But Hopkins is too much of a relentless trollbot to even acknowledge abuse. She sees a terminally ill child on TV. She makes fun of its name on Twitter. People are outraged. She motors on as if nothing's happened. The woman is kevlar.
Winner: Hopkins
We already know how Davies responds to things: by posting pictures of stuff he's punched. But that's his one and only trick. Compared to this, James Arthur is a supernova. He starts howling abuse at fellow X-Factor star Lucy Spraggan, and Frankie Boyle. The more he lashes out, the more things get out of hand. Until, eventually, like a shuttle attempting re-entry at the wrong angle, Arthur starts glowing red and disintegrating. He has to hand control of his Twitter account to his management. People gather on beaches to admire the wreckage. It is beautiful.
Winner: Arthur
Sadly, James Arthur's continued absence on Twitter – along with the fact that he apologised, like a wimp – means that he could only ever come second. Nothing can stop Katie Hopkins now. She develops the ability to turn anything into a jibe at the poor. Names. Television shows. Helicopter accidents. Whatever it is, she can be awful about it at a moment's notice. There's a purity to her determination to deliberately spout wrongheaded cack. It's offensiveness for offensiveness's sake. She's so vile she actually made Holly Willoughby angry once. Only a true monster has the capacity to do that. All hail Katie Hopkins, your Queen of the Trolls.
Winner: Hopkins

Putting a new twist on her hit song, Lady Gaga will release a studio version of "Do What U Want" featuring Christina Aguilera on New Year's Day.
Earlier this month, the duo sang the song together live during the fifth season finale of "The Voice."
Originally sung with R. Kelly, the pop star is hoping the new version will bring new life (and more sales) to the tune.
If you're eager to get your hands on the song, "Do What U Want" featuring Christina Aguilera is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
