Ever wanted to see Batman, Iron Man, and Voldemort re-enact key scenes from 1986 Tom Cruise classic "Top Gun?" Now, thanks to We Are Scientists, your wish has been granted faster than you can say, "random shirtless beach volleyball match."
Premiering over at The AV Club in support of their EP "Business Casual," the band has released a purposely low-rent video for their cover of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away." The song was prominently featured on the "Top Gun" soundtrack, so the video features two members of the band discussing "Top Gun," before recapping the film's big events with action figures in front of a green screen.
Batman and Iron Man in the beach volleyball scene? Sure. Voldemort as Val Kilmer's Iceman? Why not. Cameo by a real live cat? I'm feeling the need... For speed! Plus, a Pink Power Ranger, and several scenes we're pretty sure weren't in the movie, including some super sweet dirt bike tricks. Could be wrong though, we haven't seen "Top Gun" in a while.
If we can make requests, here's hoping We Are Scientists takes on, "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" from the "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" soundtrack next. You can check out more about the band, and purchase the EP at their website.
