Angelina Jolie Cried While Accepting Her Honorary Oscar!

Angelina Jolie has been invold in humanitarian work for years, and has now been honored for her efforts. The 38-year old actress and activist accepted an honorary Oscar for spending her time helping those in need around the world at the Governors Awards ceremony in Hollywood on Saturday. "It was only when I began to travel that I understood my responsibility to others," Angelina said in a tearful speech after accepting the award.

Angelina was accompanied by her longtime fiance Brad Pitt and their son Maddox. She also took the opportunity to thank her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in 2007. "She did give me love and confidence, and above all, she was very clear that nothing would mean anything if I didn't have a life of use to others," she said.

Angelina told USA TODAY she was "humbled to be accepting" the award, which has been presented to huge names such as Paul Newman and Oprah Winfrey. In addition to her acting career, Angelina Jolie is serving as a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
