She received all kinds of criticism for donning blackface at a weekend Halloween party, and Julianne Hough has since apologized for her lapse in judgment.
And her brother Derek Hough also weighed in on the controversy, telling E! News that although it was a poor choice, he knows she’s sorry and had no ill intentions.
Of his sister’s Crazy Eyes costume from “Orange is the New Black,” Derek noted, “She is just beyond beside herself. She's so apologetic. She's so so sorry.”
"She's my little baby sister and she's the sweetest thing ever. Obviously, it wasn't her brightest moment in her life, but hopefully we can move on.”
Julianne previously tweeted, "I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New Black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
