Faring quite nicely upon its theatrical debut, Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph 3D" emerged victorious at the box office as the weekend of November 2-4, 2012 came to a close.
The animated film about a video game villain who wants to be a hero, but instead wrecks havoc, garnered estimated sales of $13.4 million on Friday and $21.2 million on Saturday with a $50 million projected take over its first three days of release.
Also a cinema newcomer, the Denzel Washington fronted drama "Flight" wound up in the runner-up slot after grossing $8 million on Friday followed by a $10.6 million Saturday en route to an expected $25.0 million opening weekend total.
Filling out the top five at the box office in earmarked earnings are the Ben Affleck spearheaded drama "Argo" ($10.2 million) in third and the just-released Russell Crowe starring production "The Man With the Iron Fists" ($8.2 million) in fourth, followed by the Olivier Megaton directed crime drama "Taken 2" rounding out the list in fifth ($6.0 million).
