Microsoft to improve Xbox Live media search through VideoSurf acquisition (Digital Trends)
Digital Trends - Microsoft has announced that it has inked a deal to acquire video searching startup VideoSurf in a bid to improve searching for entertainment content across its Xbox Live platform. By integrating VideoSurf’s technology, users will be able to search for a term (say, “Spider-Man”) and pull up unified results across games, the Zune marketplace, TV and film entertainment, and potentially even entertainment content from third-party providers like Netflix, Hulu, or Comcast.
