Why Michele Chose Not To Attend Monteith's Memorial!

This weekend marked the first anniversary of Glee star Cory Monteith's death, who passed away last July from an alcohol and drug overdose. But his girlfriend Lea Michele escaped Los Angeles and went to a spa instead of attending his memorial - because it was too painful.

"She was in Los Angeles when she got the news that Cory died. So she was not going to stay in LA over his anniversary," a friend of hers told E! Online. Lea spent the weekend in Montecito, California, with her pals and her new boyfriend Matthew Paetz instead. The 27-year-old actress took to Twitter to remember her former boyfriend and co-star.
