Well I know why they weren't at the wedding. If you recall from breaking dawn eclipse jane saw that Bella was still human and as u know in the second movie new moon the volturi were going to kill Bella. So I think it's safe to say that if they had been at the wedding and they had seen that Bella was still human then they might have killed her then. On her wedding day no less.
