Ellen Page to make directorial debut

Juno actor will step behind camera for new film starring Anna Faris. Meanwhile, Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy also taking first directing role

Ellen Page is to make her directorial debut with Miss Stevens, starring Anna Faris as a teacher chaperoning a mob of high school students to a state drama competition. Page, 25, cut her acting teeth on Hard Candy and Juno before co-starring in Inception in 2010.

Faris can be seen in I Give It a Year, the British romcom that opens this week, having made her name on The House Bunny and The Dictator.

Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy, who enjoyed a breakout role on Bridesmaids and cameos in next week's This is 40, is in negotiations to direct Tammy, a raunchy comedy in which she's also star, alongside husband Ben Falcone.
