Chapter 28 The Future
When I first read this chapter, I felt the coldness, I felt the tomb, the grave that Stephenie Meyer describes as Alice's visions materialize in Edward's mind and in everyone's realizations of what was coming. My skin crawled and my mind became fearful of the Volturi and what they could do to this loving, beautifully happy family. Four months of blissful existence as a vampire and now Bella is faced with the worst possible scenario....complete annihilation of not just her, but her entire family. After reading this chapter, I could not put the book down. I had to read and read and read until I found out if anyone survives. This is why I love this saga so much. By this time, the reader feels like they have lived through everything Bella has lived through. I felt I had as much at stake here as she did. And now everything was in jeopardy. When Alice and Jasper left, I had no clue what was coming. It was very plausible that she did feel as though she had to get away from Renesmee and Jacob in order to see the future. As a matter of fact, the entire Cullen family was counting on just that....and so was I! I continued to read to find out more of Alice's visions. But as you know, they never came.......
