Or ice cream.

Host George Stephanopoulos even straight up asked the Cosmopolis actor to address the "elephant in the room," but Pattinson just picked up the box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and awkwardly rattled off a totally false nutrition fact instead. "It's only 30 calories," he said in sort of a whisper, then mumbled, "from fat." (Actually, 3/4 of a cup has 130 calories and 25 calories from fat.)
Anyway, Pattinson did talk about his personal life, to make it clear that he doesn't talk about his personal life. "I've never been interested in selling my personal life," he said.
Then, Pattinson explained he's doing interviews for one reason: to talk up his new flick. "You go on TV to promote movies," he said. "That's the only way to do it."
Stephanopoulos pressed a little further at the end of the interview, saying: "You seem to be doing okay."
Pattinson responded: "Yeah, yeah."
So, again, there was no trash-talking, no tears, and very little emotion from Mr. Pattinson. That was pretty much the case Monday night, too, when he chatted with Jon Stewart over some Ben & Jerry's on the Daily Show.
"My biggest problem in my life is that I'm cheap, and I didn't hire a publicist," he said on the show, using his offbeat humor to deflect the serious question. "I'm going to hire a publicist."
Stewart hinted at the Robsten drama, musing, "A breakup can really feel like the end of the world to a young person, doesn't it?" Pattinson nodded in agreement, but didn't offer any details about the status of his heart or relationship.
Pattinson's next stop on the press train is with MTV Thursday. Maybe they'll have a nice 5-course filet mignon dinner prepared for the 30-minute interview and he'll start talking.
