Sundance 2012: Fright flick 'Black Rock' bought by LD Distribution
In the fourth Sundance Film Festival deal for sales agent Josh Braun, LD Distribution has bought the girl-power fright film "Black Rock" for more than $1 million with a planned national theatrical release, according to people close to the deal. LD, a newly formed label teaming financier Mickey Liddell and marketing veteran David Dinerstein, beat out a number of interested parties, including Gold Circle and "Paranormal Activity" producer Jason Blum, IFC, Magnolia, Lionsgate and Weinstein Co., according to a source familiar with the deal. Braun's Submarine Entertainment previously sold the Sundance documentaries "The Queen of Versailles," "Searching For Sugar Man"...
